crystal repair glass repair
Bonding of Breaks: All types and colors of glass can be bonded when broken.
We use a commercial UV glass bonding agent that firmly bonds any glass items
together. Clean breaks yield the best results and are often undetectable. If the
break is not a clean break, the broken pieces in most cases can still be bonded
back together. If there are slivers or chips missing, in many cases we can rebuild
or fill problem areas. In some situations missing pieces can be rebuilt, we just
repaired a glass Santa Claus lamp that had the boot that we rebuilt. Many glass
items, such as Swarovskie crystal figurines, come from the manufacture bonded
together. Often these bonds overtime weaken and come apart. We clean the old
bonding materials away and rebond the pieces to create a restored item.
Cutting & Reshaping Breaks: In some situations breaks in pitchers,
bowls, vases and even goblets can be cut down and reshaped to create
a pleasing usable piece.
Breaks & Bonding
Things To Keep In Mind About Breaks:
If the break or damage is to extensive to bond back together pleasingly,
then often we can marriage items together. Per say if the top of a
goblet is to broken to repair but the base is one you really like, then
save the base, find another goblet top you like and we can cut that top
of the goblet you like then fit and bond the stem to the broken goblet
base you saved. If the top of a candle stick is broken, you can find
another candle stick with a top you think will go with your piece and
we can cut it and bond them together for you.

Another thing we can do if the break is to extensive to repair is to turn
the broken item into novelty items. Such as stems of goblets can be
made into ring holders if slender enough. If 50% or more of the goblet
top is in tacked, we can often make business card holders out of them.
On goblets that have broken stems but the goblet portion is intact we
can turn many of them into bells as keep sake items.
" Thank you for your usual superior repair work. You are an artist.
Thank you for doing all you did to get the broken Stuben candlestick to
look like new. If you didn't know it was repaired, you wouldn't know.
